Jesus

Jesus' life/death/resurrection have been seriously HAUNTING me...I have never felt something like this before.
It freaks me out a little bit. I don't know if "haunting" is the right word, but the life of Jesus will not leave my thoughts. What is going on here?
I read it in my book, I hear about it in class, friends randomly bring it up, and I read it on blogs!?

It seriously is shocking...What exactly is God telling me? Because it is turning my world upside down...I am learning about the greatest man in history!

People Who Inspire Me

There is this family....
When I am around them, I feel like I can see God radiating off their faces.
They feed the hungry.
They house the homeless.
They share the love of Jesus all throughout their city.
They go to Borneo every year, and make a huge difference.
I think the McCanns are pretty awesome people, and I am fortunate enough to be dating one of them :).

It's Windy!

There are all these things I SHOULD be doing, and I am not doing any of them.
I like free time, and doing nothing...So, I am just going to do that instead.

Hell on Earth

I was exercising at the YMCA last week....
As I watched each TV, I went back and forth between different news stations.
On one... a young girl found raped and killed, linking her death back to a repeating offender.
On the other...a teenager with autism committed suicide from school bullying. Not one teacher or student stuck up for her. Not one person fought for her.
Another...A school deciding to put up a fence, because of suicides and drunk accidents, where kids jump off a cliff and kill themselves.
There I was. Treading along. My heart hurting for these people...

There are so many people in my world. Our world. God's world. Satan's world?

There are the people who bring hell to earth.
Then there are those who charge into this hell we are living in and bring Heaven with them.

I am deciding to charge into this hell of a world and bring Heaven with me.

It is our choice as Christians to be God's warriors each and every single day. We never know if the person we don't say hi to, or the stranger we walk by, is a person going through hell and getting lost.

Let's bring Heaven into this earth!

Presence

Borneo is just what I needed.
Borneo gave me the chance to step out of reality. It showed me what I loved.
I met with God in a new way.
Mission work does that.
You see God through different eyes.
There is nothing more fulfilling in life, than meeting with God. Seeing God. Experiencing the thickness of His presence.
I hope that there is a lot of mission work and traveling ahead for me...
My life would not be complete without it!

Spontaneity

I was at home asleep, when I got a text message at 5:00 am.

Elliot texted me, "Hill! Wake up! Let's go to Walla Walla today and see our friends!"

Normally, being woken up at 5:00 am would have been a pain, but I was so ready for a fun trip to spend time with a good friend, and lift some spirits at WWU for dead week!

I threw some things together jumped in my car just in time for sunrise!

I had to go to Spokane first, which was a 2.5 hr drive.

I love to drive alone. It gives me time to have my choice of music, stop when I want to enjoy the scenery, and to just talk to myself and God.

Seeing the sunrise over every hill that I passed....

Captivating.

Knowing that I had done something without thinking and having that time with God, fed my soul.

My first drive was with God and the sunrise.

Perfect.

My second drive was with a good friend and lots of talking.

Perfect.

Good things come out of spontaneity.

Understand Me!

Ever since I have gotten back from India, I find it hard to hear the words, "me too."
Rob Bell says that the most comforting words to hear are, "me too."

He is right.

I never knew how right he was, until I couldn't find anyone who could understand me, or relate to the way I was feeling at that exact moment.

There are things I find hard to share with my family, because I know they just don't understand.
I love my family, but they cannot relate with me at this point in my life.

Last time I went to WWU, I felt like I was ready to explode if I didn't talk to someone about how I was feeling.

I spilled my heart out to Kristina and Kara, and I felt like a million pounds had been lifted off...
You know why?

"Me too."

Hearing, "Hillary, I know exactly how you are feeling," made me feel like my world made sense again.

Elliot just came home two days ago, I love having someone near who wants to talk about her time Bangladesh.

I can relate, she can understand, and I am thankful.
